An exciting joint venture between Grŵp Gwalia Cyf and Carmarthenshire County 
Council saw the opening of the extra care scheme Plas y Môr in Burry Port offering 38 one and two bedroom flats for people over 55, with around half of the tenants being provided extra care by the in-house care team.
Situated close to the harbour, train station and local shops, the accommodation has been specially designed with older people in mind; part of the building includes a Day Centre for older people from the local community. The scheme was also built with the environment in mind; it has lighting which is movement sensitive.

The scheme manager Lynne is available throughout the day. The scheme manager is able to assist you to make living at the scheme easier and also organise social events and activities.

- Fire alarm upkeep and testing
- Maintenance of all grounds and gardens around scheme
- Window cleaning of flat windows (external only)
- Window cleaning of communal windows
- Cleaning of bin store and rubbish areas
- 24 hour emergency maintenance - rapid response for plumbing and heating emergencies

- Guest bedroom subsidy - £10 for first night and £5 for subsequent nights

Most of our tenants find their out goings decrease considerably when they move into Tai Cymdogaeth housing for the over 55s.Please Note:
- These charges are approximate to within £10 for 2009. Slight variations in charges occur due to different sizes of properties in schemes. Please check at time of enquiry.
- Council tax, personal phone bills and personal electricity charges are not included in the service charges for any scheme.
