Llys y Werin
In 1991 Llys y Werin, Gorseinon, was built to provide 42 high quality fla
ts and Day Care Services.
All tenants live independently in their own home. 27 sheltered tenants receive support from staff when and if they require it. 15 frail elderly tenants are cared for in their own homes. Frail tenants receive an all year, twenty four, hour service. The cost of care is met by an individual's benefits and allowances. This unique model of care combines the very best of provision of services from all agencies involve including the City and County of Swansea, the Swansea NHS Trust, and the Local Health Bodies.
The City and County of Swansea work with us to provide services for elderly people in the community through the Llys y Werin Day Centre.

- Redecoration and upkeep of all communal areas such as corridors, front doors, paths and lighting bills
- Fire alarm upkeep and testing
- Maintenance of all grounds and gardens around scheme
- Window cleaning of flat windows (external only)
- Window cleaning of communal windows
- Cleaning of bin store and rubbish areas
- 24 hour emergency maintenance - rapid response for plumbing and heating emergencies
- Heating and cleaning of communal areas
- Guest bedroom subsidy - £10 for first night and £5 for subsequent nights

- Assisted bathing and shower area
The support charge for sheltered tenants includes:
- 24 hour emergency response from on-site care team

The support charge for 'Extra Care' tenants includes:
- 24 hour emergency response from on-site care team
- An intensive and individually tailored package of daily support and care on a frequent basis to enable the tenant to live as independently as possible.
Including help with:
- maintaining the security of the property
- 1 hours flat cleaning service per week
- supermarket shopping
Most of our tenants find their out goings decrease considerably when they move into Tai Cymdogaeth housing for the over 55s. Please Note:
- These charges are approximate to within £10 for 2009. Slight variations in charges occur due to different sizes of properties in schemes. Please check at time of enquiry.
- Council tax, personal phone bills and personal electricity charges are not included in the service charges for any scheme.
