Where is Parklands Court?

Parklands Court has good local shopping facilities, which include a post office, Parklands Courtsupermarket, chemist, fish and chip shop and newsagent. It is in an established popular residential area to the west of Swansea, with a city centre bus service outside the development giving easy access to the city centre every fifteen minutes.

Complete independence and privacy is assured but there is a fully furnished residents' lounge where residents may enjoy the company of their neighbours. Coffee mornings and afternoon teas are held on a regular basis.

There are 24 flats (9 of which have 2 bedrooms) at this scheme, unlike other schemes, flats are purchased and a weekly service charge is payable to Gwalia which covers all maintenance costs and the part time resident caretaker.

The service charge includes:

  • TV aerial system and upkeep
  • Hot water and electricity for all washing machines and tumble dryers in communal laundries
  • Upkeep of door entry and CCTV systems
  • Upkeep of lift
  • Redecoration and upkeep of all communal areas such as corridors, front doors, paths and lighting bills
  • Fire alarm upkeep and testing
  • Maintenance of all grounds and gardens around scheme
  • Window cleaning of communal windows
  • Cleaning of bin store and rubbish areas
  • 24 hour emergency maintenance - rapid response for plumbing and heating emergencies
  • Heating and cleaning of communal areas
  • Guest bedroom subsidy - £10 for first night and £5 for subsequent nights
  • 24 hour call line
  • Scheme Manager service 9am - 12 midday Monday to Friday
