One Pirate Ship Coming Up
Gwalia is working together with Play Right to deliver play schemes for our tenants this summer.
Play Right Chwarae Iawn is the play association for Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot. They are passionate about providing play opportunities in areas with little or no play provision. All projects at Play Right are subject to funding and this year Gwalia Housing Trust have funded them to deliver play schemes from the Pirate Ship in four areas across Swansea and Carmarthenshire.
The provision is open to all children and young people living in the area between the ages of 5 and 15 years old. Children under the age of 8 will need to accompanied by an adult.
Play is very important for children as it is the way they learn about themselves and the world around them. They get the opportunity to experiment and learn from their mistakes, just as they did when they learnt to walk. At the play scheme the play can get messy (hand painting, water fights and arts & crafts) and the children can relax and enjoy themselves. The play workers at Play Right are experienced and trained to understand how to safely facilitate child-led play so that your child gets the most out of their playing experiences while the project is open.
